Confused by all the acronyms and how they impact AI, LLMs, and your recruitment marketing strategy? You’re not alone – most organizations are figuring this out in real time.
Let’s start with the basics
- SEO helps candidates find your company & jobs on your site
- GEO helps candidates form opinions about your brand
- AIEO helps candidates get direct answers – and positions your brand as the source behind those answers
Candidates are increasingly asking AI:
- “Best RN jobs in Houston”
- “Highest paying NP roles near me”
- “Companies with flexible work schedules”
- “What companies offer remote work”
If your career site content isn’t structured clearly and consistently, AI tools won’t surface your brand accurately – or at all.
Each of these plays a role in strengthening your employer brand, driving more qualified job seekers to your site, and reducing reliance on job boards.
The Core Difference
So, what can you do that will make a difference in your recruitment marketing strategy?
1. Clean Up Your Core Employer Data
AI pulls from structured, trusted sources. Make sure your information is consistent across:
- Your website
- Indeed
- Glassdoor
- Comparably
AI compares sources – inconsistency weakens trust.
2. Add Structured FAQ Content to Your Career Site
AI models love Q&A format. Add a candidate FAQ page with real questions like:
- What is it like to work at [Company]?
- What benefits do you offer?
- Do you offer remote or hybrid roles?
- What is your hiring timeline?
- What is the salary range for key roles?
Keep it clear and simple—this helps AI pull answers directly from your site.
3. Improve Salary Transparency
AI searches are increasingly including compensation. If your jobs don’t include salary ranges, you’re less likely to be surfaced. Make sure salary is included in your job descriptions, where possible.
4. Strenghten Structured Data (Schema Markup)
Ensure your site includes:
- JobPosting schema
- Organization schema
- FAQ schema
- Review schema (if applicable)
This makes your content machine-readable and easier for AI to interpret.
Strong SEO supports GEO – and both support AIEO.
5. Build Authority through Third-Part Signals
AI relies heavily on external validation:
- Reviews (Glassdoor, Indeed)
- News mentions
- Awards and rankings
- Backlinks
It’s best to encourage:
- Authentic employee reviews
- Press coverage
- Thought leadership
- Industry participation
Authority increases your chances of being included in AI responses.
6. Monitor AI Mentions
Periodically test how you show up in AI:
Ask:
- “Best companies to work for in [city]”
- “Top employers for nurses in Texas”
- “Is [Company] a good place to work?”
Check:
- Are you mentioned?
- How are you described?
- Is it accurate?
This becomes your ongoing audit.
The Big Picture
If your recruitment marketing strategy is solid, SEO, GEO, and AIEO aren’t separate strategies—they’re simply the next evolution of what you’re already doing right.
